Evaluation study - Halev 24/7
Halev 24/7 is a unique program for the treatment and prevention of commercial sexual exploitation among youth, operated by Elem (NGO), the Tel Aviv Municipality and the Ministry of Welfare. The systematic process and outcome evaluation was carried in 2017-2015. The full evaluation report (in Hebrew) can be download here
Help seeking of youth who trade sex
The research was funded by the ISF and carried out in the years 2020-2023 by Prof. Einat Peled, Prof. Guy Shilo, Ayelet Prior, Dania Koren-Shimshoni, Nufar Belisovsky and Dr. Roni Eyal-Lubling. We developed a data-based model of help-seeking by youth who trade sex, based on in-depth interviews with 50 youngsters who received payment for sex and 20 professionals who helped them. In addition to articles and theses, we produced a report of the findings for the research participants that can be downloaded here.
Following the study, an international workshop on the subject was held in the summer of 2022.
